Where the prices on this site come from.
For every product we cover, we keep an independent record — called a listing — for each store that sells it: its current price, whether it's in stock, and a link straight to that store's page. A listing is never edited to "fix" a mismatch; it's a fact about what a store is showing, as of the last time we checked.
When two stores sell what looks like the same product, we merge their listings into one comparison page — but only when we're confident it's genuinely the same item. If we're not sure, we'd rather show it as a separate, similar product than merge incorrectly. A missed match just means one extra row; a wrong match would quietly corrupt the comparison, so we default to caution.
On a comparison page, prices, specs, and "lowest price" claims all point back at the specific listing (or listings) that support them, numbered like a footnote. Click a citation number and it jumps straight to that row in the price table, with a link to the original listing.
Where we show a predicted or negotiated price rather than a currently-listed one, it's marked as an estimate. We don't present a model's guess as a guaranteed price.
